To provide a safe space, everyone will pass through metal detectors and a security screening conducted by trained staff.
Within the secured perimeter, Champaign Police Department officers, professional security guards, and event staff will be present to monitor safety.
Our friendly staff will also be easily identifiable, ready to assist you with any questions or needs.

In the heart of Downtown Champaign, Illinois; running north-south between Main Street and University Avenue.

Downtown parking is plentiful with metered parking, several parking lots, and the covered Hill Street Parking Deck. Click HERE to see all the nearby parking options when you’re visiting The Beat Downtown Champaign.

Gates open for entry at 8:00pm. Entertainment starts around 8:30 and concludes at midnight. Gates for entry close 30 minutes before end of show. < No entry after 11:30pm>

No, there is no cost to attend The Beat.

Scheduled entertainment may be delayed during inclement weather or possibly cancelled if the rain is forecasted to persist. Artists’ performances may be postponed to a future date. If necessary, cancellation announcements will be posted on The Beat’s social media pages (Facebook & Instagram). Links at the bottom of the page!

Bringing alcohol to The Beat is prohibited; however, The Beat is an approved event allowing for open containers of alcohol outside of establishments but only within the security perimeter on Market Street while wearing the issued 21+ wristband. The alcoholic beverage must be purchased from a participating business and served in an approved clear plastic cup.
You must be of legal drinking age and present a valid form of ID to obtain the 21+ wristband upon entry.

Yes, lawn chairs are allowed.

Unfortunately dogs and other pets are not allowed at The Beat.
